This project was done at the Alleghany County Access site, which has 8 canoe campsites and is accessible only for canoe use. It has pit toilets and a pump for drinking water.At least once a year we hike this combination of trails. This peticular section offers an easy downhill grade on the picturesque Virginia Creeper, with numerous bridges and mountain streams. The more challenging Appalachian Trail intersects the Creeper at several points - giving an opportunity for the advanced hiker.
